Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Hong Kong Public Relations

client: HKTDC
Expertise: Content and Design, Event Management, PR and Media

The Brief

As the organizer and exhibitor for trade events in Hong Kong, HKTDC had a passive and reactive positioning, with poor brand preference on their newly started Start-up Express. CCG was to help HKTDC build a compelling narrative to multiply their events’ appeal and strengthen their role as an incubator of the start-up and SMEs, providing all-round support to their business development and expansion.

The CCG Way

CCG strategically planned media engagements and teaser campaigns to amplify the effort of HKTDC in response to the pandemic by launching different programmes and making use of various technologies to support local startups and SMEs.

Virtual interviews with reporters were facilitated in parallel with the physical seminar.

CCG also collaborated with KOLs with the latest updates of the event and a live streaming of the panel sessions with the keynote speaker.

Results

CCG helped HKTDC achieve record-high media attendance with high quality media coverage, with Start-up Express achieving 775 + pieces of coverage, including 6 management interviews and 4 TV interviews, and E-day achieving 800+ piece of coverage including a Cable TV interview about E-Day going virtual.

CCG arranged a virtual media briefing via Zoom with the keynote Speaker Gerd Leonhard in Swaziland with tech media including E-zone, Hong Kong Economic Times, and Sing Tao IT Square.
